The Soul of Psychology

Book Series

New Book Series

The Soul of Psychology Series elevates the core origin of a person’s experience of common mental health-related conditions to the forefront of health, bringing the full essence of an individual back to the center of treatment rather than the symptoms that have come to define them. This completes the picture of healing through body and mind, and most importantly, soul.

For years, we’ve relied on the fields of modern medicine and psychology to answer the toughest questions of why we struggle in life and how to manage various emotional concerns. Now it is time to re-establish the health of the soul as the primary element in true healing.

This series examines all aspects of a person’s health to assist in returning an individual to whole health. Without attention to all root causes of a condition, treatment will continue only as a management of symptoms rather than a permanent resolution of issues which leave people feeling less than complete.

The Soul of Psychology Series creates a new foundation for a much-needed whole health—and soul health— approach to treating the most common medical and psychological concerns prevalent today.

Book One

Anxiety:

Treating Body, Mind & Soul

Treatment of anxiety has lacked a key element ever since the fields of modern medicine and psychology were established as the primary options for addressing emotional concerns. While evidence-based action related to the body and mind aspects of anxiety disorders is necessary to identify and manage symptoms, it is often insufficient in returning a patient to a state of whole health. Frequently, it is the less-known soul-based origin of an anxiety disorder that must be addressed to help a person feel complete.

Anxiety: Treating Body, Mind & Soul offers a comprehensive view of the origins of many anxiety-related concerns and emphasizes deeper aspects that may have created the initial emotional disturbance or block full healing when traditional methods aren’t enough. Source factors such as epigenetic influence, ancestral suffering, past-life trauma, and various other soul wounds are discussed. Up-to-date categorization of the psychology of anxiety disorders is discussed along with corresponding soul-related factors that may affect each concern.

Although anxiety is the fastest growing worldwide mental health concern, “good enough” management of symptoms is no longer adequate. ALL factors that affect those with anxiety-related disorders—physical, emotional, and soul-based—must be explored and addressed for true healing to occur.

The next books in this series

Coming Fall 2024

Depression: Treating Body, Mind & Soul explains the deeper origins to this often-elusive concern. The essence of who we are—the soul—can become so wounded that our external experience of life can be greatly dampened. When events in this lifetime or previous lifetimes have left invisible energetic imprints on the deepest part of who we are, traditional methods of healing can fall short in assisting us to overcome the dark periods of life that are marked by depressive episodes.

Coming Spring 2025

PTSD: Treating Body, Mind & Soul provides a whole person view of all aspects that impact treatment and highlights previously unaddressed facets of an individual’s history that may inhibit healing. Various factors related to ancestral, past-life and generational trauma are discussed. All of these soul-based forms of trauma can leave deep energetic imprints on the essence of who a person is, which can prevent full resolution of symptoms. Repetitive trauma can also carry over from previous lives to exacerbate future traumatic events.

Coming Nov 2025

Grief: Treating Body, Mind & Soul explores the complexity of symptoms that can accompany loss at the deepest levels. Bereavement may take on many forms, but when soul-level grief occurs, a person can suffer unnecessarily when they don’t understand the deeper aspects of their experience. The release of karmic patterns, unhealthy soul contracts, the completion of ancestral trauma or other soul-based factors can all play a role in how a person moves through an otherwise natural process.

Praise for

Anxiety: Treating Body, Mind and Soul

“Dr. Katherine Kelly’s book is a clear, original and important analysis of the ways in which conventional approaches to the classification and treatment of anxiety disorders falls woefully short of treating the whole person by its exclusion of the essential component of illness related to the soul. She proposes an expanded holistic model which delineates an understanding and treatment of illness that includes the body, mind, and soul. This book provides much needed medicine for our soul sick world.”

–Judy Tsafrir, M.D., Psychiatrist and author of Sacred Psychiatry: Bridging the Personal and Transpersonal to Transform Health and Consciousness

“Are you seeking to heal anxiety at the deepest level to create truly transformational results? Dr. Katherine T. Kelly’s brilliant Whole Soul Model is a rarity—a truly holistic approach to understanding the human condition and avenues for healing and growth that includes what’s so often missing: the influence of the soul. Clinicians and readers who are ready to venture beyond the conventional understanding of anxiety will love this book.”

–Mark Bottinick, LCSW-C, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

“Finally! Someone did it! Dr. Kelly so eloquently and intelligently synced the two worlds of professional psychotherapy with spiritual soul healing as it relates to our ever-expanding mental health crisis of anxiety. I cannot wait for the rest of the series! As a therapist and spiritual soul healing practitioner, I have deeply studied spiritual healing and shamanic healing practices as a means to heal myself and better understand healing as a whole. Once I did, my work with clients became richer, deeper, and more profound for them and for me as the provider. I believe this is a crucial direction our field needs to take.”

–Angela Eischens, MA, LMFT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Reiki Master Practitioner

“Dr. Kelly and her book are mending what through many years has wrongly been separated and isolated from the healing of the human being. Within my practice of energy work in the human biofield, the most consistent desire of my clients is to be whole in their purpose. I see Dr. Kelly’s book as a significant guiding tool in healing, giving the long-needed support of the Soul to the body and the mind.”

–Loretta Childress, BA, M.A.T., Certified Biofield Tuning Practitioner (Advanced), Reiki Master, Cymatherapy Practitioner

“Even within an era of evidence-based and manualized treatment protocols, anxiety remains one of the most challenging conditions to effectively treat. Dr. Kelly offers a more complete approach to conceptualizing and treating anxiety by expanding her Soul Health Model into the Whole Soul Model. By elevating the most important part of who we are in our understanding of the human condition, Dr. Kelly provides a roadmap for whole person healing at a time when it is needed the most.”

–Joseph R. Biggs, Ph.D., HSPP, Licensed Psychologist

“Dr. Katherine Kelly creates a soul-based paradigm for healing, bringing new meaning to the phrase ‘just what the doctor ordered.’ It is so refreshing and needed to see this emerging and taking its place in mental health. This book provides facts on the history of disease and treatments and Dr. Kelly’s soul-fortifying approach to health and wellness. Her exploration of alternative methods has truly elevated her practice as well as the reader seeking a holistic approach to healing.”

–Herb Hernandez, Astrologer, Holistic Wellness Coach, Certified in Plant Based Nutrition
