We’ve all been told...
That mental health is a mind/body thing—stemming from either a biochemical imbalance or some sort of stress or trauma experienced along the way. While this is true, there might be more playing a part from the soul side of health.
In my books Anxiety: Treating Body, Mind and Soul and Depression: Treating Body, Mind and Soul, I talk about the many “soul factors” that may be impacting a person’s ability to experience mental well-being. One of these factors is the astrological personality—how you experience life according to your natal chart, the astrological “mapping” of where the planets were at the moment you were born. What does this have to do with emotions and coping? Pretty much everything.
What people don’t know is that our astrological personality can directly influence our ability to cope, solve problems, feel good about ourselves and much more. Astrology goes far beyond a simple horoscope, where most people base their assumptions. A full astrology chart offered by a trained professional can illuminate may aspects of a person’s characteristics to illustrate just how this affects mental health and well-being.
Our souls choose our life lessons prior to incarnating into human life and depending on how your personal astrology looks, you can explore what these are. These lessons are often “mapped” through our astrology, and in fact, can help us navigate the human condition much more affectively if we understood that 1) our personality is created by how our astrological charts line up, 2) our struggles and life lessons are laid out for us, often to the minute that they occur, 3) our astrological personality illustrates what we are here to evolve beyond, and 4) when fully understood, a person could describe the general themes that occur throughout their life simply by reading what their astrological chart says.
Astronomy is considered to be the oldest science known to humans, stemming back to 3000 BC. Early scientists used the alignment of the planets to determine agricultural patterns and prediction of various events. Interestingly, these scientists were often priests who were trying to understand omens! Astrology, mathematics, the field of medicine, and various forms of technology all evolved from understanding planetary alignment. In fact, Hippocrates, the father of medicine, stated that practicing medicine without astrology was not medicine at all. More specifically, Carl Jung, one of the founding fathers of psychology also emphasized the usefulness of astrology in understanding mental health.
Emotional health is a complex part of our lives. While traditional teachings about how our mind works are a necessary part of treating mental health concerns, astrology is just one more soul factor that could be used in explaining why some people deal with certain issues. The video below provides further information for understanding the importance of this age-old concept as you learn more about your current life.
