Soul 101 Series (Episode 8)

Why We Don’t Remember Past Lives?

If we have so many lifetimes, why don’t we remember them?

To quote a Catholic nun I know, “I have enough to deal with in this lifetime, I can’t even imagine putting it all together for more.”

Seriously, I did hear her say this when I was asking her about her thoughts concerning reincarnation. Believe it or not, nearly 45% of those who claim Christian beliefs also believe in past lives, regardless of being able to remember anything about them.

But why don’t we remember? To Sister Donna’s credit, she’s right—one lifetime of the human condition is often enough to overwhelm a person, let alone adding details from another. However, as someone who does soul healing work, including past-life regression therapy, sometimes understanding the details of previous incarnations is the only way to resolve issues in this one. Understanding sticky relationships, ways we remain stuck, unexplained fears, etc. are all benefits of undergoing past life work. In fact, I recently received a request from an eighty-three year old woman who wants to explore her overall soul path as she prepares for her remaining years. She’s never dipped into these soulful waters but is curious to complete the picture of her life so far.
